TreeTote® × Fashion For Forests: An Alliance Between Design and Regeneration
TreeTote® × Fashion For Forests: A Union of Design and Regeneration
In October 2025, São Paulo Fashion Week N60 hosted a unique initiative: Fashion For Forests, a project imagined by designer Amir Slama, Indigenous activist Txai Suruí, and entrepreneur Catarina Bellino. Their objective: to harness the power of fashion to support reforestation and raise awareness around forest preservation.
On this occasion, TreeTote®—the Swiss brand behind the world’s most sustainable reusable bags—partnered with the initiative to promote a shared vision: a fashion rooted in renewable resources and regeneration.
A Movement Born of the Forest
According to Veja Brasil, the Fashion For Forests project was officially unveiled during Amir Slama’s anniversary show at São Paulo Fashion Week. Born from a meeting between the designer and Txai Suruí, a global figure in Indigenous rights, the initiative aims to turn fashion into a tool for reforestation.
“Fashion, through its communicative power, can contribute to the preservation and reforestation of already devastated areas.”
— Amir Slama, Veja Brasil, October 5, 2025
During this show, a symbolic piece was revealed: the Tree-Shirt, designed by artist Claudia Liz. As reported by Harper’s Bazaar Brasil, each sale of this item supports a reforestation project in the Rondônia region, on the lands of the Paiter-Suruí people, via the Pamine Reforestation program.
It was also during this moment that TreeTote® ensured a visible presence by distributing its reusable bags to guests—a symbolic gesture in support of circular, responsible fashion.
Students from Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo also contributed to the creation, with designs inspired by the forest and Amazonian culture.
TreeTote®: The Fiber of the Future
TreeTote® designs reusable bags made from wood fiber sourced from sustainably managed European forests. The entire production process is based in Europe and is designed to significantly reduce water and energy consumption, while guaranteeing responsible end-of-life: the bags are compostable, recyclable, and plastic-free.
Each TreeTote® bag is fully traceable via its unique Respect Code, viewable here: respect-code.org/product/ZBKT4NYU .
A Natural Fit
The collaboration between Fashion For Forests and TreeTote® is grounded in a shared belief: the forest can be both a source of material and a driver of regeneration.
The Brazilian project highlights tree planting and public engagement, while TreeTote® shows that an everyday product can be designed responsibly and transparently—without compromising environmental impact.
Two complementary approaches, one unified goal: to regenerate, preserve, and transform how we produce and consume.
A Clear Vision of Sustainability
For BioApply, this partnership reflects a clear mission: to offer reusable, traceable, and low-impact solutions, designed for brands and citizens alike. Initiatives like Fashion For Forests show that sustainability doesn’t start with compensation—it begins with the right materials, the right actions, and the right systems.
From Amir Slama’s Tree-Shirt to TreeTote®’s reusable bags, one message stands out:
To protect the forest, we must rethink our materials, our creativity, and our consumption.
