Fossil plastic lobbies and industries feel there is a great opportunity to reverse the trend towards renewable, sustainable, circular. Putting the Green Deal aside for economic or health reasons is a lack of vision. The COVID crisis is many ways linked to environmental issues and its resolution also finds synergies with a Green Deal. Alternatives to plastics do work when implemented in a smart way and not for marketing reasons only. Walking backwards never really works.
